Her: “I invited you here because you keep coming back.” Him: “I came because I wanted to see how you were doing…” In Le Souper, alone on stage, Julia Perazzini recounts an imagined encounter with a brother she never knew, since he died before she was born. She brings this missing part of her story to the stage, like a dialogue across time and space, between life and death, reality and imagination. The story ignores chronology, so-called logic and the order of things. Throughout this impossible supper, the audience is invited to cast a new look at death, to give it back its share and to perceive its power in activating the living. By embodying her own character in conversation with the fantasised character of her deceased brother, she performs a cathartic, poetic and joyful ritual that questions the very fact of existence. After the highly acclaimed Holes and Hills, Perazzini, a multi-talented artist, continues her research on identity, this time through her relationship with the invisible world.

JULIA PERAZZINI
Julia Perazzini (née en 1982 à Lausanne) est comédienne, performeuse et metteuse en scène diplômée de la Manufacture – Haute école des arts de la scène en 2006. Elle collabore régulièrement avec de nombreux metteurs en scène au théâtre (Emilie Charriot, Isabelle Pousseur, Emilie Rousset, Julien Prévieux, César Vayssié, Denis Maillefer, Guillaume Beguin...), à la télévision (Bruno Deville) ou au cinéma (Lionel Baier, Véronique Aubouy, Benoît Mariage). Elle participe également à des performances dans des galeries d’art contemporain et travaille avec des artistes pour leurs vidéos ou performances. En 2011, Julia Perazzini fonde la Cie Devon. En 2014, elle joue dans l’adaptation théâtrale de l’essai de Virginie Despentes, King Kong Théorie, mis en scène par Emilie Charriot, présentée sur plusieurs scènes européennes.
Théâtre Saint-Gervais, Geneva
A fine example of 1960s architecture, both sober and functional, Théâtre Saint-Gervais spreads over nine floors, entirely devoted to research, installations, theatre, cinema and fine arts. The two performance halls, one in the basement and the other on the 7th floor that opens on the city, offer a mixed programme, which inspires the most unexpected encounters. Innovation and risk-taking permeate every floor of this beautiful cultural vessel.
